Mirian was born in Valencia in the province of Quevedo. Because she’s a single mother, she moved to Buena Fe. She’s thirty-five, a high-school graduate, and has one child. She tells us that she learned from when she was very young to be responsible in the role of mother and father. Now her son is fifteen and in high school.
Little by little, Mirian’s store began to see results. She grew the business with merchandise because there aren’t many stores in her area. Her sister lives with her and helps out in the business because Mirian goes out to work as a maid from 8AM to 4PM, and then works in the store until it closes at night. Mirian has not had major problems in her neighborhood because she’s well-known, but that’s not to say there isn’t any crime.
Mirian plans to use her loan to buy merchandise, chickens, and to put in some shelves. In the next few years, she would like to open a restaurant, continue with the store, and help her child with college.
